Golden Gator Awards
What's New in 2009
Awards
Each category will continue to have one Golden Gator recipient -- the highest scoring entry in that category. In addition, judges may award multiple silver awards in each category – assuming the entries meet the standard of excellence set by the panel.
The silver awards will replace the honorable mention and creative resource awards of the past two years. It is expected that the number of silver awards will exceed the number of previous honorable mention and creative resource awards, thus allowing more entries to be recognized for superior quality.
Number of Categories
This year there will be 12 categories instead of 10. The additional categories include the new Electronic Newsletter category and the separation of the Communication Program and Special Event categories (previously combined into one category).
Points for Abstract Quality/Abstract Form
As part of the judging criteria this year, points will be allotted for the abstract. This is to help emphasize the importance of the abstract. While a thorough abstract is to the benefit of the entrant, abstracts in the past often have been sparse. An abstract form is included this year – in an effort to help entrants fully address the questions/topics to best explain each entry.
Entry Fee
The addition of a $10 entry fee this year is to help offset the cost of the awards and administration of the program.
